“Christianity is not a religion it’s a relationship
Relationships require communication”

Scriptures & Notes

Matthew 6:7-13

Why Pray?
1. Relationship
“It’s ridiculous that we who know nothing do all the talking to the One who knows everything.”

Communication turns duty into relationship

2. Gets things done…

“Faith is the currency of heaven backed by the gold bars of God’s Promises”

How to Pray?
Ask, Believe, Thank

Mark 11:23, 24 (NLT)
I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.  I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it (when you asked), it will be yours.

Philippians 4:6,7 (NAS)
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

“Faith begins where the will of God is known.”

1 John 5:14
This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

Speaking & Declaring

James 5:16b (AMP)
The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

2 Corinthians 5:22
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Romans 8:26, 27
Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans.
