Summer Camp Week 2 – Pastor Kevin Kringel
Shame causes us to hide… God takes us out of hiding and turns us into shining lights.
Listen to the audio version of the message.
“From Shame to Acceptance”
From Shame: A painful feeling of humiliation, distress caused by consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior.
To Acceptance: action of receiving something offered, being received as adequate, suitable, admitted into a group, favorable..
9 And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.
33 Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; 34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (AMP)
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom). 18 And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.
1 Kings 6:7; stones
1 Peter 2:4-6
4 You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor.
5 And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God. 6 As the Scriptures say,
“I am placing a cornerstone in Jerusalem,
chosen for great honor,
and anyone who trusts in him
will never be disgraced.”
“Shame will always cause you to hide…from God, your spouse, your kids, others… God knows how to raise you up out of shame and put glory back into your life.”
