“To prosper in the Kingdom, you must learn the culture.”

Psalms 95:1-6He is God & King

Ephesians 2:8-11 (NLT) God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

“We are brought into the Kingdom by grace, but now it’s our responsibility to learn the laws, customs, and culture of this Kingdom.”

    Example:

If I move to England and want to prosper as a citizen, I must learn its laws, its values, and its culture.

The women, deep in wonder and full of joy, lost no time in leaving the tomb. They ran to tell the disciples. Then Jesus met them, stopping them in their tracks. “Good morning!” he said. They fell to their knees, embraced his feet, and worshiped him. Jesus said, “You’re holding on to me for dear life! Don’t be frightened like that. Go tell my brothers that they are to go to Galilee, and that I’ll meet them there.”

Romans 12:1&2

Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].

One major cultural shift: You now have a King and He’s not you…

Isaiah 55:8,9

“For My (Kingly) thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My (Kingly) ways,” declares the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My (Kingly) ways higher than your ways
And My (Kingly) thoughts higher than your thoughts.
